Nectar, the UK loyalty card scheme, has launched an extensive online fashion site giving Nectar cardholders the chance to buy clothes and accessories from more than 50 high street brands, and clock up points while they shop. A search facility on the site allows shoppers to search across 500,000 items from fashion retailers including House of Fraser, Urban Outfitters, Kurt Geiger , Boden, Next and New Look. Members must provide their Nectar card number before selecting items, in order to attain points.

At www.nectar.com/fashion collectors are rewarded with two Nectar points for every £1 spent. To kick off proceedings House of Fraser, Debenhams, Gap and All Saints will be offering double Nectar points on all purchases for the next six weeks. Points-based promotions are planned for throughout the year.

Features on the site include cross-brand search and compare, the facility for shoppers to store their favourite items in their own online wardrobe until they are ready to buy, and fashion news updates. Nectar members can also create a personalized homepage giving immediate access to items and promotions from their favourite brands, as soon as they log in.

Nectar has declined to disclose what commercial arrangement it has agreed with retail partners for the portal.

James Frost, marketing director ant Nectar said: “We’re always looking for ways to help our customers boost their Nectar points balance in ways which are relevant to their lifestyles. Women are now shopping online for fashion more than ever before, so we’re delighted to be able to launch a service which rewards them for doing so.”

He added: “Our plan is to continue to grow the site over the coming months and years to house even more retailers, allowing women to collect Nectar points at even more of their favourite stores.”

The Nectar Card scheme was relaunched in the summer of 2007 to celebrate five years of the card. In 2010 , Nectar announced that it had overtaken Tesco Clubcard to become the UK’s most popular loyalty card. Today Nectar has over 17.5m collectors.
