NetDespatch gets busy with the fizzy and gives the gift of time

Marlow-based parcel data management company, NetDespatch, is helping put the fizz in SodaStream’s order fulfilment and despatch processes, and has cut admin time for a novelty gifts maker by as much as eight hours per day.
SodaStream processes around 50,000 orders per year for its make-your-own-carbonated-drinks equipment and supplies. Prior to implementing NetDespatch, those 50,000 orders required manual data entry and label printing.

The order fulfilment system deployed by NetDespatch’s Retail Solutions seamlessly integrates with SodaStream’s Magento eCommerce and warehouse system, and with the APC Overnight network via their local depot, Team C Express Logistics. Collaboration between Magento specialists Xtento and Session Digital, means that the data is transferred directly from Magento to NetDespatch in real time using a web services solution. Labels are then automatically printed in the warehouse via the powerful NetDespatch Connector local printing application, and a notification is sent to the carrier that consignments are ready for collection.

“The NetDespatch solution is saving us time and man hours,” said Georgia Carrano, Digital Marketing Manager, SodaStream. “We have been able to use our warehouse staff more effectively, redeploying some to other areas of the business despite an increase in sales volumes.”

Dorset-based novelty gift maker, Made Lovingly Made, has saved as much as eight hours admin time per day, after installing a similar system from NetDespatch.

Made Lovingly Made makes unique personalised gifts and novelty products, such as cufflinks, necklaces, key rings and jigsaw puzzles, from ethically sourced wood. Produced in Made Lovingly Made’s workshop in Christchurch, these products are sold through the company’s own website and the marketplace.

Prior to implementing the NetDespatch solution, Made Lovingly Made had to manually download orders and then print despatch labels in bulk. Following a period of growth, the business needed more automation and flexibility in its fulfilment and despatch processes.

Made Lovingly Made now uses NetDespatch’s Import Engine, which is user-configured to map the data from its website and, and transfer it to the NetDespatch servers.

It also uses Parcel Despatch, the NetDespatch online scanning solution, to scan the barcodes on pick-and-pack notes and print off labels as required. Once all labels have been printed for the day, the Sales Order Summary can be printed, which automatically transfers the data to the Carrier’s Online Business Account.

“The NetDespatch solution enables us to quickly process all of our Royal Mail orders for despatch,” said Tony Carr, Director of Made Lovingly Made. “On a busy day, the solution saves us eight man hours.”
