New Zettamoo site aims to show individually-relevant gift ideas

A new website aims to help online gift buyers find products that suit their individual tastes more quickly.

Zettamoo predicts what products shoppers will or won’t like or don’t like from their judgements on the items they see on the site.

Visitors are shown a series of items. By clicking ‘yoo’ or ‘noo’ to like or discard and identifying their reasons by choosing the most relevant adjectives, they enable the site to predict items they will like. The approach, says Zettamoo founder Peter Anderson, is a world away from gift ideas shown according to the age, gender and hobbies of the viewer.

“As a 28 year old male I got bored of being constantly shown drinking games,” said Anderson, who previously worked for and has also set up his own sites including Zettamoo grew out of a site that Anderson created with his friends. allowed visitors to order t-shirts whose design grew out of their answers to a series of questions, but essentially remained a mystery until they arrived in the post.

“I really liked the idea of giving shoppers the option to tailor their product – zettamoo is a continuation of this theme, but without the mystery,” said Anderson.

Zettamoo sources its product suggestions from sites ranging from Amazon to small boutique sellers. Visitors who register through their Facebook or Twitter accounts can return to view items they previously, and go on to share their favourite items across their social network.
