Oasis is enabling visual search technology on its website.

Using Snap Fashion technology, Oasis customers can simply take a picture of their favourite style icon or someone wearing something they like with their mobile phone and then search online for garments that are similar to one that they have a picture of, based on their style and colour, using a ‘Snap for Similar’ button.

Briony Garbett, head of customer experience and ecommerce at Oasis, said: “Partnering with Snap Fashion has enabled Oasis to respond to the ever-evolving shopping habits of our customers and continues to support our commitment to a truly multichannel, social shopping experience.”

Snap Fashion, founded in 2011, enables shoppers to search for visual fashion matches from its own members-only website, but this is the first time that its technology has been used by a high street retailer.

Jenny Griffiths, chief executive and founder of Snap Fashion, said: “We are thrilled to be launching Snap on Oasis. Their vibrant prints and shades couldn’t be more perfect for demonstrating the strengths of our visual search technology.”
