Online travel bargain newsletter Travelzoo has notched up 20 million subscribers, it announced today. The targeted email service has doubled the number of people that it reaches since 2006.
The newsletter gives travel companies and airlines the opportunity to sell directly to consumers on the basis of cost – bargains are flagged up in the newsletter’s regular round-ups.
Today it announced it had doubled its circulation in four years since 2006, thanks to an extra 2.4m subscribers in Asia Pacific, where Travelzoo operates independently but cooperates for marketing purposes.
Travelzoo chief executive Holger Bartel said: “We believe that there are very few Internet media companies that can offer its advertisers such a broad reach in travel and entertainment.”
Travelzoo is published in territories including the UK, the US, as well as Australia, Canada and China. It is staffed by teams in 20 offices and 11 countries in North America, Europe and Asia Pacific who test each offer to make sure it can be booked.
