Fashion retailer Kookai is to roll its new-look website out across Europe, following the relaunch of its UK site earlier this year.
The new site, developed by Magento specialists Session Digital, will, said Serena Everton, ecommerce director at Kookai, “enables Kookai to have greater control over its ecommerce development strategy, and allow the brand to respond quickly to changing business needs with confidence.”
The site uses a central product database with rich media features including zoom, alternate views, and filtered search, while its social media includes links to Facebook and tumblr, as well as a Kookai blog. The site is intended to be easily rolled out as the company takes the website to other European territories, including Italy, France and Spain.
Kookai was established in Paris in 1983 and now has a presence in 40 countries in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Australia.
Everton said: “Session Digital helped us define our international development roadmap, ensuring the brand had a solution which could continue to support the business in the longer term and across multiple territories.”
Richard Jackson, director at Session Digital, said: “Kookai presented us with an ambitious challenge to create a robust and scalable global e-commerce solution. We have worked extremely closely with the team at Kookai to fully understand the brand, its history, culture, and the team’s internal processes as well as the business’ immediate web development needs. We have spent a great deal of time immersing ourselves within the brand to fully understand what makes Kookai unique.”
