The Delivery Group has acquired international ecommerce logistics operator P2P. The company joins two other specialists that make up the group after it was formed in March 2016. These include mail and ecommerce operator Secured Mail and mailroom outsourcing solution CMS.
P2P employs around 150 staff and provides tracked and untracked ecommerce distribution services from its locations at Basildon and Heathrow.
P2P’s founder and CEO Ian Dowie said he was looking forward to working together with the directors of The Delivery Group. “We chose to join The Delivery Group not only because we could see the exciting service opportunities that we can offer together, but because the cultural fit and focus on customer service was evident right from the first meeting,” he said.
Paul Carvell, chairman of The Delivery Group, said that P2P brings extra international expertise and perspective to the group. “P2P will continue to provide the same great service under the same trading names and be run by the same management team,” he said.
The Delivery Group, consisting of P2P, Secured Mail and CMS, will have an estimated turnover of £200 million. The company will operate from six locations with around 500 employees and will handle more than 500 million items a year.
The deal was backed by equity firm Next Wave Partners, representatives from whom will also join the board of directors for The Delivery Group.
