Pets at Home fulfilling third of online orders through stores

Pets at Home is now fulfilling around a third of its online orders through stores, the company revealed in its trading update this week.

The company says this is from the broadening of its deliver from store capability during the quarter, as well as its established one-hour click and collect service.

Pets at Home originally began a ship from store trial last summer to make better use of its store estate as a distribution network and generate cost savings.

The pets specialist said it was seeing various inflationary pressures across the supply chain which it is trying to proactively mitigate through strategies such as targeting rent reductions, procurement savings and operational efficiencies. But it says the UK pet care market remains robust, creating what it called “a sustainable tailwind for growth across our business.”
