The gift shop at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew has gone live with its first ecommerce site. The new system has been developed for Kew Gardens by Screen Pages using the open source Magento e-commerce platform.

"We appointed Screen Pages because of its online retail experience and successful record," says Jonathan Marks, head of commercial activities for the Royal Botanic Gardens. "Working with Screen Pages to design and build our online store on the Magento platform gives us a very rich e-commerce capability with a lot of flexibility."

The site went live at the end of 2009 and is currently achieving a conversion rate of 5%.
