Belgium’s largest telecoms provider, Proximus, has teamed up with subscription bundling specialist Bango to consolidate and grow its entertainment offering using the Bango Digital Vending Machine (DVM).

Under the terms of the partnership, Proximus is migrating its existing subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) services to the Bango platform while introducing new tiered subscription options designed to give customers greater choice and value.

Simplifying third-party subscription management

Previously, Proximus managed direct integrations with individual streaming providers through its own platform, creating operational complexity and increasing the resources required to maintain integrations, implement API updates and launch new services. By adopting the Bango DVM, the telco aims to simplify management of third-party subscriptions while accelerating the rollout of new offers and content partnerships.

The partnership is also expected to support future expansion, with additional subscription services planned for launch through the platform. The Bango DVM manages the full subscription bundling lifecycle, from onboarding partners to handling upgrades, downgrades, cancellations and promotions.

What it means for retail

For retailers, the partnership highlights the growing importance of subscription aggregation as a tool to support customer retention and loyalty. Retailers are increasingly exploring bundled digital services, memberships and partner offers to boost engagement and create recurring revenue streams. Platforms such as Bango’s allow organisations to add and manage third-party subscriptions without the cost and complexity of building multiple integrations in-house.

“At Proximus, we continuously look for ways to make premium entertainment more accessible and convenient for our customers,” said Perrine Bichet, Entertainment Lead at Proximus. “By leveraging the Digital Vending Machine from Bango, we can more easily expand and enhance our subscription bundles, including leading streaming services such as Netflix and Disney+, while bringing new content options to market faster and delivering even greater value to our customers.”

Paul Larbey, CEO at Bango, added: “We’re delighted that Proximus has chosen the Bango DVM to power its subscription bundling. By using our powerful migration engine to migrate to the Bango DVM, Proximus gains a scalable platform that accelerates the launch of new offers and simplifies the addition of new partners. With access to a growing ecosystem of content partners and the flexibility to adapt customer offers quickly to market demand, Proximus can focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences while Bango handles the complexity of subscription bundling.”
