Screwfix is rolling out Screwfix Sprint, its new rapid delivery service that promises delivery within 60minutes which has been on trial in Bristol since June.
The rollout has already begun with more than 30 cities across the UK set to have the service, which delivers to site, by the beginning of November. Locations will include London, Birmingham and Glasgow, meaning that the service will be available across a third of UK postcodes. Further locations will be added next year.
The service is available for a £5 charge and is bookable through the Screwfix app, which has recently surpassed a million downloads. Goods are delivered from the store closest to the customer.
The retailer says that during the Bristol trial hundreds of trade customers used the service to deliver thousands of orders. Customers have left positive reviews of the service on the retailer’s website.
John Mewett, CEO of Screwfix, said the service was a natural extension to the company’s delivery options. “We understand how busy the nation’s tradespeople are and we are always looking for ways to provide our customers with even greater convenience, meaning they can get what they need, when they need it. Our one-minute click and collect service is already hugely popular and the trial of Screwfix Sprint across Bristol showed how tradespeople value one hour delivery to where they are working. For many time is money and this means not having to leave site to collect a part, tool or other key essential needed for the job.”
Screwfix now has 723 stores in the UK and 98% of the population are within 30 minutes of a store.
