Shopware unveils Enterprise Cloud at Shopware Community Day

Co-CEO Sebastian Hamann also announces New York office as ‘pivotal moment’ in Shopwares international expansion.

Schöppingen/Ahaus, 25.05.2022Shopware, the leading German open-source digital commerce platform, today announced the launch of Enterprise Cloud – a brand new cloud-based solution – at it’s international and fully hybrid ecommerce event Shopware Community Day (SCD).

Shopware’s co-CEO, Sebastian Hamann, unveiled the new solution during his keynote speech at the first iteration of the event to take place in person in three years.

The announcement was met with great interest from the 6000 strong delegation of tech professionals from Shopware’s community who came together to celebrate the open and collaborative approach that makes Shopware a unique business model within the retail landscape.

Highlighting the collaborative and open approach offered by the cloud, Hamann said: “Shopware merchants have now the power to realise their individual vision of digital commerce quickly, scalably, and flexibly, while fully concentrating on the success of their business”.

“Bringing Enterprise into the cloud is possible thanks to the consistent implementation of Shopware’s most important corporate value, which at the same time differentiates the company most strongly from the competition: openness. This means the openness of the product, but also the openness of the community behind the software.”

Sebastian Hamann also took the opportunity to announce the opening of Shopware’s US office in New York City, expanding Shopware’s footprint in a key growth market for the tech firm. He commented: “It has always been our goal to grow internationally while providing outstanding digital shopping experiences to our global community, and our partnership with Carlyle and PayPal, announced earlier this year, has provided a huge boost to take this next important step”.

Shopware Community Day hosted a range of notable speakers across its three stages. They included basketball icon Dirk Nowitzki; Sara Clemens, Senior Advisor at Blackstone and former COO at Twitch; and Space Time Concepts CEO, Laura Winterling. A highlight was professional dart player Fallon Sherrock, who shared exciting insights into her career and demonstrated her sporting skills live on stage.

The event was also the opportunity for the Shopware community to gather in person for the first time since 2019. Around 1,000 visitors gathered at the Tobit Campus in Ahaus to be inspired by the latest tech innovations, meaningful market developments, and impressive business ideas. Another 5,000 viewers tuned in live from around the world to watch the spectacular event online. Hamann concluded: “We have learned a lot in the two years that the SCD has been purely digital. We are happy that we can now celebrate again on-site with our community, while at the same time making all content available via stream to our numerous global customers and partners as well.”
