Health and beauty retailer Superdrug has partnered with on-demand delivery network Gophr for its doorstep pharmacy delivery service.
The service will enable the rapid delivery of Superdrug’s prescriptions across the UK. The doorstep experience must replicate the security protocols that take place in the pharmacy itself. There are therefore layers of protection in delivery to uphold standards, ensuring that prescription medicines are given directly to the people they are intended for.
Gophr’s Standard Operating Procedures, as well as its ability to track and trace all home deliveries digitally from store to door were cited as major factors in Superdrug’s decision.
Ghada Beal Superdrug’s healthcare director, said: “Patients want a fast, easy and convenient way to manage and order their medication and have it delivered to them safely and efficiently. Gophr’s extensive network of professional couriers and real time tracking information enables us to support patients within local communities, delivering a best-in-class service to them.”
In July 2023, Superdrug introduced a range of accessibility features on its website to make it more inclusive for disabled customers. The technology will allow customers to navigate its website “with ease” and provide a “customisable and personalised shopping experience”, following research that 70% of 14 million people registered as disabled in the UK abandon their online shopping cart due to inaccessibility.
