IRX 2018 Hear, see, and feel the wealth of technologies at the expo's workshops

Ahead of this year’s InternetRetailing Expo (IRX 2018) and Delivery Expo (EDX 2018), we’re looking forward to some of the workshops that will focus on technologies. Here are some of the highlights.

Attendees will be able to hear, see and feel the wealth of technological possibilities and strategic options available to fulfil customer expectations and requirements.

Talia Shani, director of marketing, UK - Yotpo, will welcome the first workshop at IRX 2018. She will look at everything ecommerce shoppers have said over the past year, using AI and machine learning to gather insights from millions of reviews to learn surprising things about retailers’ clientele. The AI-focused workshop 10 things you need to know about your customers (that they’ve been telling you all along) is at workshop room 1 at 10:00am, March 21.

Speakers from Nosto, then will take the lead. They will discover how personalisation can influence and transform retailers’ conversion game; from the onsite experience to crafting a tailored social advertising strategy with minimal effort. The presentation will include a 30 minute-panel debate featuring GB Posters and Henmores - two companies who have leveraged personalisation to drive greater traffic and more inspiring customer experience. Faiban Riegel, sales manager international at Descartes then, take the lead with a software-focused workshop. Riegel will show the delegates what to look out for in e-commerce warehouse management software and what retailers’ will be able to do today based on real-life examples. Descartes: E-commerce warehouse logistics as a competitive advantage is at workshop room 2 at 11:35am, March 21.

Saima Alibhai, managing principal consultant EMEA at Bronto Software will discuss technologies that leading UK retail executives consider will be key to future success of retail. Oracle+Bronto-2018 trends: inside the minds of ecommerce retailers is in workshop room 1, at 11:35am, March 21 and March 22.

Derek O’Carroll, the cheif executive officer at Brightpear will identify attitudes towards the try-before-you-buy culture, the impact on return behaviour and the damaging effect the emergence of ‘the intentional returner’ will have on tight retailer margins. He will also be joined by retailer Cocoroses who will be sharing their experiences and how changing consumer trends are affecting their business and their profit margins. Brightpear-’try before you buy’-returns hell for retailers is at workshop room 1, 13:35pm, March 21.

Luca Senatore, agency director at Genie Goals, will share some of the secrets that propelled Genie Goals to this success, focusing on two topics close to his heart: paid social and paid search. He will illustrate top strategies and dos and ’dont’s’ that will help any retailer navigate the hugely competitive digital marketing landscape. Ginie Goals-winning paid social and search strategies for retailers is in workshop room 3 at 14:00pm, March 21 and 14:20pm, March 22.

Elliott Clayton, senior vice president Media UK at Conversant , answers the what, why and how of personalisation, using real-world examples of brands that are generating huge ROI (for example, Dune London increased ROI per customer by 64%). Conversant-the principles of personalisation is in workshop room at 14:35pm, March 21.

Or Lenchner is the COO of Luminati will share a market leader’s lessons learned, best practices, a review of the tools as used every day by the biggest online retail companies. Scaping reliable data from ecommerce websites without being blocked or misled is the last workshop of the day and takes place in workshop room 2 at 15:35pm, March 21.

Chris Boaz, head of marketing at PCA Predict will open the second day of workshops. Boaz will discuss the findings of PCA Predict’s recent report Fixing failed deliveries: improving data quality in retail, and cover the main implications of a failed delivery on both retailers and their customers. PCA Predict - the real cost of failed deliveries is in workshop room 3 at 10:00am, March 22.

Justis Saayman, head of strategic services at Fresh Relevance will spend some time looking at just what social proof is, how it can work for your brand and examples of how you can get started. Fresh relevance - social proof in real-time marketing is in workshop room 2, 13:35pm, March 22.

Speakers from Plentymarkets will be the closing workshop for the day. At IRX, they will consider what ecommerce marketplace landscape has to offer. Plentymarkets - why looking beyond Amazon and ebay will be worth your while is in workshop room 2, at 14:35pm, March 22.

Note that during the event these workshops will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis and we advise visitors to take their seats 10 minutes prior to the workshop session to avoid disappointment.
