Homewares superstore The Range has launched a new ecommerce website as it expands its chain of stores.

The company says online is a strategic priority for it and that the new site is designed to give shoppers access to the store’s stocks of homewares, from furniture to DIY equipment, as well as arts and crafts products.

Ecommerce manager Mark Andrews said: “As well as being heavily focused on expanding our physical business, online is now a strategic priority for us, as it represents a significant sales channel and opportunity.”

The new site, created and hosted by BT Fresca on its FrescaCommerce platform, is unveiled at a time when The Range aims to have 60 stores by the end of the year, with 20 more planned for 2012.

Features of the new site include a wish list option, product recommendations and reviews, as well as an improved store finder.

The Range owner and founder Chris Dawson said: “We are a growing business and our success is down to the fact we are able to offer customers a wide variety of products at unbeatable prices with a quality driven team onboard.”
