In today’s InternetRetailing newsletter we report on the desirability of UK retailers in global markets where consumers are increasingly likely to look overseas to buy.
That’s good news, since here in the UK the market is getting ever more competitive: today we we report on unseasonal weather that’s holding customers back from buying, and on research that suggests nine out of 10 shoppers now price compare before they buy. No wonder, then that UK retailers and service providers are adapting to deliver the commerce that more mature digital shoppers now demand. We report on Waitrose as it trials home scanning, and Royal Mail as it invests in hand-held technology set to improve its delivery methods. It’s just such evolution that enables UK retailers to attain their desirability both in British and international markets.
Finally, today’s guest comment looks ahead to Christmas peak: Akamai’s Enrique Duvos shares five best practices that will ensure online readiness for Christmas.
