VoucherCodes.com has a new managing director. The online discount code website has appointed ecommerce veteran Giles Delafeld to the post.

In his new role Delafeld, who moves from the executive board of the Sun Capital-owned Irisa Group, will be responsible for continuing growth at the site. Some seven million people are expected to visit VoucherCodes.com this month, up from about three million in December 2010.

VoucherCodes.com founder James Carter previously worked with Delafeld at Dixons Retail when he headed ecommerce for Currys. Since then Delafeld has also led ecommerce operations at Blacks Leisure Group before moving on to the Alexon Group, since renamed the Irisa Group. As reported elsewhere on this site, Blacks Leisure Group this week went into administration before being bought by JD Sports.

“We are thrilled to have been able to bring Giles on board and we are very confident that he will take the business to the next level,” said Carter. “Over the past decade Giles has proved himself to be one of the UK’s ecommerce pioneers.”

Delafeld said: “I am looking forward to leading VoucherCodes.com at this critical stage in its development and taking it from a hugely successful start-up to an established online ecommerce brand.”

VoucherCodes.com sources discount codes and deals from more than 6,000 shops and restaurants including Boots, Littlewoods, Argos and Asda.
