In today’s InternetRetailing newsletter we’re taking a look at what we learned from Black Friday about the way we shop now. We think that interesting trends can be seen in how shoppers buy at a time when transaction levels are higher than usual, and today we’ve pulled out five that caught our attention over the period.

That Black Friday and Cyber Week more generally are a good time to consider the evolution of online shopping seems clear. BRC-KPMG figures out today suggest that more people turned to the internet to buy over the course of the peak shopping week, with a record proportion of retail sales taking place online during the month.

Today we also report on innovation from Amazon, as it launches its Amazon Go prototype till-less store, and on expansion at fast fashion retailer Quiz.

We have an interview with Jonathan Newman of B2B retailer Office Depot, ahead of the InternetRetailing B2B Summit that’s set to be held in Berlin in January.

Today’s guest comment comes from Thomas Coppen of Keel Over Marketing, who considers the importance of keeping mobile marketing strategies up to date.
