Three buzzwords likely to get us spam-trapped: Drone, Apple Watch and Win. However, it’s all true at eDelivery Expo (EDX) on 25 March.
The Editor of eDelivery.net, Sean Fleming, is investigating the hype, the current and future realities and the industry view on drones and their part in multichannel. There is a lot written on the subject, but not that many of us have seen or flown a drone, especially not a ‘carrier grade’ machine.
We thought that we’d bring the drone experience to EDX and IRX and so with our friends at Scurri , we’ve arranged:
- a delivery drone
- approval from the Civil Aviation Authority to fly it
- a qualified pilot
- the NEC’s permission to overfly the lake and around the NEC
- a panel of experts and practitioners to debate whether drone delivery will become feasible and real in the UK.
Apple Watch as a prize
Half the fun of delivery is anticipating a much-wanted item to arrive in your hands. To replicate this we scratched our heads for a suitable cargo and decided… an Apple Watch!
Visitors to IRX and EDX will also have the chance to win the new Apple Watch, which was only launched this week, courtesy of Scurri.
To be in with a chance to win this cutting edge time piece, just register for the show and sign up for the Scurri workshops. The winner’s name will be in the package, delivered at IRX.

When and where?
The Delivery Drone Demonstration will take place on the morning of 25 March 2015 outside Halls 1-5n The NEC.
Terms and conditions apply, and our thanks to Scurri for sharing their expertise in logistics and delivery, and helping us bring this topic to life.
Scurri are running two workshops at EDX at 1030 on 25 and 26 March on the topic of “Promises Delivered: Keeping up with the ever increasing delivery expectations of today’s customers” – you can select to attend when you register for EDX.
