TheOutnet.com, the new site from Net-a-Porter founder Natalie Massenet, will stock designer labels such as Stella McCartney, Marc Jacobs and Jimmy Choo — but all at heavily reduced prices.

According to a report in the Telegraph:

[theOutnet.com] is understood to be planning to take advantage of clothes and shoes ordered by department stores who have then had to cancel their shipments as they feel the full force of the credit crisis.

Although the details are being kept confidential, it is believed that different designers will be promoted on different days and discounts could be as high as 80 per cent.

“We are very excited about this new brand which will have its own unique offering. It’s time to give the sale customer a place she can call her own,” Massenet told the paper.

Since Massenet founded the venture in 2000, Net-a-porter has grown to a staff of 850 with offices in London and New York. The site has an average order value of £500.
