Upmarket fashion brand By Malene Birger has launched an ecommerce site selling in 12 countries across Europe.

Features of the site, developed and operated by full-service ecommerce services company GSI Commerce, include a Shop by Look application, where shoppers can view a complete outfit and buy all or part of it from the page. Others include 360-degree zoom and rotation, colour matching and flash.

The developers say the shopping experience is designed to reflect the bricks and mortar experience of shopping in a store, from easy browsing to store-style packaging.

Jesper Arvidsson, ecommerce manager at IC Companys, which owns the By Malene Birger brand, said: “The final product was bang on message and we find outselves perfectly positioned for future growth… focused on growing out online sales figures.”

Hosein Moghaddas, vice president and managing director International at GSI Commerce, said: “Online retailers need to give their customers as many opportunities to buy the product on their own terms as possible. Whether you’re talking different colour options when browsing or allowing the customer to select a delivery time suitable for them, the ball is now in their court. And it’s likely to stay there.”
