Toys “R” Us has upgraded its website, launched new fulfilment options and introduced new store software in Spain and Portugal.

Toys “R” Us has launched a new website in Spain and Portugal, which offers a faster and more functional design and new features such as click and collect. Customers get free shipping for orders over €60 and can receive orders within three hours.

The company announced this week that it had introduced a new cloud-based point of sale system in all of its stores. The platform from Openbravo, which took four months to deploy and runs on mobile, will simplify sales and support new omnichannel services for the retailer, although it did not specify what these were.

The retailer is currently exploring introducing experiences in stores, allowing children to play with toys in areas of the outlets or celebrate birthday parties.

Paulo Sousa Marquez, CEO of Toys “R” Us Iberia explains, “Now that this technology has been implemented in all our stores, we are impressed with the capacity of the Openbravo POS, which has allowed us to greatly simplify our processes. This has been key for enabling us to make all our stores operational in just four months.”
