Alibaba brings Alibaba.com Select to Europe to simplify importing for B2B buyers

Alibaba.com, the B2B marketplace of Alibaba Group, is launching a new service ‘Alibaba.com Select’, designed for retailers, distributors, wholesalers, medium and large companies who currently import or are interested in importing from China.

The Alibaba.com Select service is inspired by Alibaba.com’s experience in B2B ecommerce and its partner ecosystem, and it has been designed exclusively for B2B buyers.

As uncovered in The Future of B2B E-Commerce: Online Platforms, an independent study by Euromonitor International in collaboration with Alibaba.com, while large companies have managed to adapt quickly to the digital-only business, for buyer and seller SMEs the change of strategy and the adoption of ecommerce has been slower. The research highlighted this is often due to the lack of resources and access to information on the possibilities offered by the platforms, thus leading them to focus more on collaboration with established partners. Alibaba.com Select responds directly to this need, providing a comprehensive B2B sourcing service, says the company.

The purchasing process for a buyer within Alibaba.com Select involves five phases: sending a request for quotation; analysis of the quotation; analysis of products and documentation; signing of the contract; and agreement.

Throughout the process, Alibaba.com’s European team will support the buyer. In order to provide buyers with a high standard service, Alibaba.com will select carefully the most suitable products. The buyer can have confidence in receiving maximum visibility on production processes and real-time tracking of the status of the shipment.

The project is mainly active in the following product categories, with competitive offers in terms of product quality and price: Home products, including textiles and linen, Clothing, Small appliances, Consumer Electronics, DIY related products, Garden Furniture, Solar energy related products (photovoltaic panels, microinverters) and E-Mobility (charging stations).

Alibaba.com has a network of 200,000 suppliers and over 40 million buyers in more than 200 countries. The launch of this new service, Alibaba.com Select, continues the commitment to support B2B buyers in the optimization of their own Supply Chains.
