Argos is running a trial of a new high-speed delivery and collection service, called Fast Track across the south of England.
Fast Track offers customers three same-day delivery slots to choose between, charged at £3.95:
- Order by midnight for next morning delivery between 7am – 1pm
- Order by 1pm for same day delivery between 2pm – 6pm
- Order by 6pm for same night delivery 7pm – 10pm
In-store same-day collection is also available on a selected range of goods, Argos said.
The launch of the Fast Track trial has been supported by an advertising campaign running on YouTube, ahead of a potential nationwide launch. An Argos spokesperson confirmed it is currently only available to customers within the UK’s ITV Meridian region, which covers most of south-central England.
Unlike current Click & Reserve options, where payment can be made in store when customers collect their purchases, Fast Track requires online payment.
The development of Fast Track was first referred to in April when Argos CEO John Walden talked about being able to offer improved home delivery – including same-day – as a result of its re-engineered hub-and-spoke logistics network.
