Alibaba.com, one of the world’s leading business-to-business (B2B) ecommerce marketplaces, has launched‘Super September’, a massive B2B sales event that aims to increase business use of the marketplace.

Super September will connect more than 40 million buyers and 200 thousand suppliers from around the world to help them discover new products, services, and possibilities to grow their business. Alibaba.com offers a virtually unlimited catalogue of products from these suppliers.

During the month-long trade event, business buyers in the UK can access new and exciting products with on-time delivery, as well as quality suppliers showcasing their factories and product lines through live-streaming technology and VR show rooms. Through its technology platform, Alibaba.com brings British business buyers and global suppliers together more efficiently and cost-effectively, ultimately improving margins and aiding business growth.

The launch of Super September comes as UK buyers face ongoing supply chain disruptions. According to RSM, 38% of medium-sized businesses that have had issues receiving orders have seen a fall in customer satisfaction and 28% have reportedly lost at least one important customer due to supply chain issues, leading to 40% changing their suppliers outside of the UK*.

To help overcome these challenges, Super September will offer more than 10 million products with, “Deliver by” dates, providing an enhanced level of certainty and reassurance for buyers. This year, it is also focused on providing more opportunities for buyers to access high-quality products from countries with known provenance – for example, wine from France, nuts from Vietnam, and coffee from Italy.

Roland Palmer, General Manager of UK, Benelux & Nordics, Alibaba Group, says: “UK business buyers are facing significant challenges when it comes to acquiring and maintaining their stock. Amidst this uncertainty, UK SMEs now – more than ever – need to look at alternative sourcing platforms. Alibaba.com offers a one-stop shop that makes global sourcing quick, easy, and cost-effective, enabling businesses to mitigate the impact of supply chain headwinds. With our platform, B2B buyers can benefit from more choice, greater value, and new opportunities.”
