Boohoo Group completes PrettyLittleThing warehouse relocation

Fashion retailer Boohoo Group has revealed the completion of the warehouse relocation for its PrettyLittleThing brand and said that the automation of its Boohoo Burnley site to drive future efficiency is on schedule for use in 2019.
The news came at the announcement of the group’s interim results which showed that sales were up 50% for the group.

The PrettyLittleThing distribution centre was relocated to Sheffield during July and August and has been designed to accommodate the planned future growth for the brand. Boohoo Group’s joint CEOs Mahmud Kamani and Carol Kane said the move represented a key milestone in the development of a distribution network capable of generating £3 billion of net sales globally. “This relocation was carried out with a low level of disruption to the operations of PrettyLittleThing and is a credit to the project team,” they said.

Meanwhile the company said the construction of the latest extension of the Boohoo distribution centre at Burnley is now complete with automation being introduced to improve picking efficiency.

The company said it had also worked hard on the customer proposition with faster delivery times and more delivery options introduced for customers. In the UK the cut-off time has been extended to 11pm and 12pm for next day evening delivery for the Boohoo brand with SMS messaging also introduced to keep customers informed of delivery status. Boohoo Group is also trialling AI for customer contact response and is also introducing more country returns portals to allow it to refund customers immediately after the courier collects their parcel.
