Comet becomes first UK customer for e-gift card provider CashStar

Shoppers at Comet can now buy e-gift cards, personalise them and send them via Facebook, email or mobile phone.

The electronics retailer is the first UK trader to sign up with CashStar, which already works with more than 250 retailers in the US and Canada.

Customers of Comet’s e-gift card programme, billed as the “first full-featured digital gifting experience in the UK,” can create digital gifts personalised with messages, video and photographs. They can be sent to their recipients via email, Facebook or over a mobile device.

“E-gift cards are increasingly popular in the consumer electronics industry and we’re seeing a growing demand from our customers. With Christmas less than three months away, enhancing the digital and mobile gift experience is one of our top priorities,” said Scott Evenden, general manager, corporate sales at Comet.

“CashStar’s digital gifting makes it possible for us to offer customers unique personalisation features, a fantastic recipient experience and end-to-end mobile optimisation.”
