In today’s InternetRetailing newsletter we report on the latest developments from the ecommerce and multichannel retail industry. We have news from Asos as it reports a fall in profits after a turbulent year that included a warehouse fire, and we have two interesting takes on click and collect, as Waitrose puts automated, temperature-controlled lockers to the test, and as garden centre Longacres becomes the first in its field to launch drive-in click and collect.

We also round up pre-Christmas research, with findings that include the idea that consumers will leave it later to order this Christmas, while some retailers are still not ready for the peak season. Today we have news of investments including the Whisky Shop’s new website and City Link’s £2m spending on new scanners to improve the customer experience.
