Ex-Boden marketer Richard Bell appointed CEO of award-winning interiors brand Cox & Cox

Cox & Cox growing strongly

Growing interiors brand Cox & Cox has appointed ex-Boden head of marketing Richard Bell as CEO.

The appointment comes as Cox & Cox experiences strong business performance, driven by Bell in his former role as the company’s Chief Operating Officer. Sales have grown 35% with a sharp increase in profitability through a focus on customer metrics and new range launches.

Previously at Boden, Richard was instrumental in driving brand awareness and international growth during his 11 years as Head of, and subsequently, Director of Marketing and is now perfectly placed to take Cox & Cox on a similar journey. Leaving Boden in 2014, Richard held the position of Customer Marketing Director at Charles Tyrwhitt before joining Cox & Cox in 2018 with a brief to drive awareness and growth.

Commenting on his new appointment, Bell says: “Cox & Cox is at a very exciting stage of its journey, and I am extremely proud to be a part of it. So much good work has been done in the past two years, laying down a foundation for profitable growth, and ensuring that we build on this momentum.”

Since its establishment as a mail order company in 2001, Cox and Cox has gone from strength to strength, aiming to deliver the best in interior style with a great shopping experience. The company proudly holds a five star ‘Excellent’ rating on the review platform Trustpilot, and was awarded ‘Best Home & Interiors Brand’ at the 2019 Direct Commerce Awards.

Between 2017 and 2018 the brand logged 13% growth, but is on course to hit 35% this year, with significant improvements in every customer performance metric, says the company. New ranges such as Custom Made Upholstery and Hardware have driven retention and frequency, along with new CRM formats with personalised recommendations.  The company has also launched dedicated ranges for Pet and Kids in spring and autumn 2019 respectively  and it will roll out its own-brand paint range in February 2020.
