Luxury fashion retailer L.K. Bennett has seen online sales double after installing a new e-commerce platform.
In the first five weeks since launch, net retail sales on lkbennett.com rose by more than 100%, compared to the same period a year ago, and customer conversion also more than doubled. Compared to the previous season, sales were up by more than 70%.
Kate Smyth, head of e-commerce at L.K. Bennett, said: “The response has been incredible, from the increases we’ve seen in trading to the feedback from our customers.”
The rise in sales follows the decision to make the website the brand’s flagship store, with the aim of reflecting its instore customer experience online.
This involved the move to Portaltech’s quickLive multichannel commerce platform, using rich media and merchandising content from 10CMS. As a result of additions such as hot spots, customers can reach product pages directly from the home page, while L.K. Bennett is in charge of managing their brand presence using lifestyle imagery.
Features of the site include size and colour filters to narrow down the range of options. Content includes background on the label as well as some fashion features. In the press coverage section, shoppers can click directly from features that have appeared in magazines to the products on the website.
Andrew Walker, managing director of Portaltech, said: “One of the major benefits of QuickLive is the speed with which it can be implemented. It provides enterprise grade scalability and regularly updated e-commerce features ‘out of the box’ and because it is flexible L.K. Bennett’s in-house team are empowered to manage the customer experience as and when required.”
