SubX World 2023: Hobbycraft to expand subscription model

Hobbycraft store front

Hobbycraft is to launch new subscription schemes following the success of its Plus and Cut and Create subscription models.

The arts and crafts retailer’s head of digital marketing Bonnie Jackson and senior CRM manager Zoë Blythin told SubX World 2023 to “watch this space” hinting at there are many other aspects of crafts the company “wants to pursue in the future”.

This follows the retailer launching its subscription schemes in October last year offering users discounted products and free next day delivery. However, within the Cut & Create subscription users are able to access £30 worth of workshops, led by Hobbycraft experts.

Commenting on the launch of the subscription models, the marketing bosses revealed its model is “much more tailored to the customer” amid the already overly-saturated market, revealing the company saw a rise in both new and existing customers signing up to the scheme.

At the time of the launch, Hobbycraft customer director Katherine Paterson said: “Our objective is quite simple, we want to support would-be professional crafters to make their dreams a reality and avid crafters who simply like to make lots.

“The service works out at under £7 a month and through the incredible workshops, seminars, and discounts, we look forward to helping our customers make the transition from hobby crafters to professional crafters.”
