In today’s InternetRetailing newsletter, we’re hearing how retailers performed over Black Friday and we’re looking ahead to ask if we can expect to see more pre-Christmas discounting in our Peak 2017 coverage.

Black Friday was also a factor in this week’s ONS figures, which show November sales rising online, although not as strongly as last year.

We have updates too on multichannel strategy from IRUK Top500 retailers including Sports Direct, Ocado and Dixons Carphone. All are enjoying sales growth and in their figures this week the multichannel retailers explained what was driving that success. We also feature an interview with Sean McKee of Schuh on how the retailer, which performs strongly in the IRUK Top500, approaches its customer experience.

Today’s guest comment offers pointers for others keen to do well in this area, as Patrick Malatack of Twilio presents his new rules of retail engagement.
