Christmas is always a good time to test the strength and direction of the multichannel retail industry, and this year is no exception. In today’s Internet Retailing newsletter we focus on seasonal innovations, with the story of how pureplay’s analysed its data to bring relevant offers from online to the high street, on record sales, with the latest figures from John Lewis, and on how well retail sites in general are bearing up in what’s proving a busy online season, with figures on web performance brought to us by Mark Gunn of Compuware Gomez. And courtesy of our friends at Affiliate Window, we can also bring you a very informative Cyber Monday infographic: click here to view.

But 2012 has also been about international and multichannel strategies, and today we bring you timely updates on those two issues from three very different retailers. While Asos is fast expanding into an online-only global retailer, and Mobile Fun is following in its footsteps, Carpetright sells very little online, yet in its latest results it explains why digital is still an important part of its business.

Internet Retailing Expo 2013 – call for papers

We’re now looking ahead to Internet Retailing Expo 2013, scheduled for March 20 and 21 at the NEC in Birmingham. Thousands visited last time, with standing room only in many of our conference streams – the perfect place to share adventures in retail with an informed audience. If you’d like to present at IRX 2013, then click here to find out more about our call for papers. Note that’s there’s no charge to present, and speaker decisions are taken entirely on editorial merit.

If you missed our recent series of webinars, you can catch up on them via our webinar page. And if you missed Internet Retaiing 2012, our annual conference, you can catch up with all the presentations here.
