Mobile payments are hot. Not only has it been talk of the town at Mobile World Congress, but every man and his dog is talking about the growing importance of mobile payments to business.

The lack of a real mobile payments solution that both consumers and retailers are embracing ubiquitously is making the gap between what is needed and what is available yawn ever-wider. And this is impacting payments generally.

As a result, the Digital Payments Village at Internet Retailing Expo 2015 (IRX5) is going to play a crucial role at the show and is a place where all retailers need to swing by.

For quite sometime now mobile has been pushed as the glue that holds omni-channel retail together, but mobile payments is likely to become the technology that brings together a range of engagement issues for retailers and etailers – it brings together loyalty, customer data, marketing, outreach, engagement and more.

Right now any retailer or etailer needs to tackle some really key issues. The first one is overcoming the drop out you get at checkout. Looking for ways to design the perfect, seamless checkout is the nirvana of retail and getting that right across channels is crucial.

The other big issue security. Payment security is crucial to all consumers but it is becoming the issue that so many people worry about – often wrongly – about m-payments. Already the news is out there that hackers have cracked Apple Pay, and any new, high profile launch is at risk of being killed before it even lives by security issues.

Typically, companies such as Samsung which has launched its Samsung Pay this week partner with companies such as Visa and MasterCard to not only leverage their brands but to also provide security. This is one way round it.

But there are many other ways to do it and it is one of the things that will be talked about in the Digital Payments Village at IRX15.

Other areas that will be covered include:

• Identity

• CRO

• Fraud prevention

• Check outs in new markets

• Mobile and tablet checkout

• cultural changes in new markets

• POS – old and new.

So to find out more about mobile payments and to connect with experts that can help with all your other payment issues, get along to IRX15 and check out the village. Register FREE today
