Jägermeister uses new age verification technology to ensure its shoppers are old enough to buy alcohol

Jägermeister is using new age verification technology so that shoppers using its website can now prove they are old enough to buy its products online. 

Because shoppers can now use an app from Yoti  on their phone to prove their age, Jägermeister is able to take debit card payments for the first time at the online Jagershop where it sells the speciality spirit.

Shoppers use the Yoti app, available on iOS and Android, by taking a selfie and scanning a passport or driving licence with their smartphone. That’s then turned into a digital identity that can be used to prove their verified name and age without disclosing their full identity, by scanning a QR code or clicking a button.
