John Lewis opens online Christmas shop

John Lewis has unveiled its online Christmas shop following searches for festive products more than doubling over the summer compared to last year.

According to the retailer, 28% of customers were browsing and purchasing Christmas gifts as early as August this year, with searches for tree decorations up 33% year-on-year.

A survey by the high street retailer added that wrapping paper searches also increased by 466% and crackers up 400%.

“This year’s themes are inspired by the magic of nostalgia and the enchantment of Christmas,” John Lewis Christmas buyer Lisa Cherry said.

“The brilliant in-house design team have taken inspiration from our archives, giving treasured vintage prints a new lease of life across a number of festive products.

“We’re really excited for our customers to explore the new themes and plan ahead for the festive season.”
