A year after overhauling its website, contemporary homeware retailer Joseph Joseph has seen significant growth in online sales, especially mobile.

Following the implementation of a new ecommerce platform, Joseph Joseph has reported a boost in unique year-on-year users of 20%, while seeing a reduction in bounce rate of 14%. The increase in web traffic has directly resulted in a 45% growth in revenue and attributed to a 25% increase in conversions. The improved mobile-responsive design also contributed to a 57% increase in new mobile users, directly leading to a 71% growth in mobile transactions.

With stockists in more than 100 countries, Joseph Joseph required a website that could match the needs of the company’s growing worldwide audience. With this in mind, systems integrator Tryzens, developed a new online platform alongside the support of third-party apps to improve and streamline the online customer experience. Users enjoyed a unified view of price, products, inventory and orders across the business, while easier checkout functionalities including one-click ordering, multi-currency and tax calculation, were also implemented.

The new site, powered through Magento Enterprise eCommerce platform, enabled Joseph Joseph to achieve its global aim of deploying a high-performance, flexible and scalable platform to support the retailer’s rapid international growth. The improved responsive page layout enabled content images to perfectly adapt for the variety of screen sizes and devices, ensuring mobile-responsive design was catered for.

Mike Warwick, Head of Online at Joseph Joseph explains: “As we looked to expand our retail footprint, having a website that could easily upscale with our business operations was a critical component. But while having an online platform was one thing, ensuring our customers had an improved user experience, across all platforms, was yet another key aspect. Tryzens’ ability to thoroughly understand these aims meant they were expertly and effortlessly able to implement the best eCommerce solutions for our business, enabling us to reinvest our focus into improving other components of the company.”

Warwick continues: “With today’s consumer expecting websites to offer both speed and responsive design, our new website guaranteed these were given priority no matter what platform, ensuring users had maximum flexibility in their purchases. The new solutions implemented by Tryzens have effectively resonated with both desktop and the ever-growing mobile user, resulting in a massive pool of new users. The enhanced online journey has been able to convert these new users into making purchases, representing a big stride forward in improving both our customer service and our profitability.”

Andy Burton, CEO of Tryzens adds: “Joseph Joseph’s remarkable growth in revenue perfectly illustrates what a responsive website can achieve, especially when combined with a mobile-first approach. Through our expert knowledge and robust partnerships with leading eCommerce providers, it was clear that the Magento Enterprise, alongside other supporting applications, would be the best solutions needed to maximise its customers’ online experience and thus improve profitability.”
