Local UK shoppers get ‘Buy British’ boost from All Britannia UK-only marketplace

All Britannia: Local goods for local people

Shoppers who want to ‘shop local’ can now access goods made only in the UK from materials only produced in the UK on new online marketplace All Britannia.

The site, which will stock everything from food and drink, clothing, skincare and beauty products through to homeware, books and arts and crafts, aims to connect UK businesses who create their products using British materials with consumers who value shopping local.

Businesses can sign up now to make the most of an introductory offer. Companies already using Shopify, Squarespace, WooCommerce, or one of the other major platforms, will be able to present their products on All Britannia in roughly five minutes. All sellers are verified as being in the UK and using 100% British materials where feasible. This accounts for the fact that not every element required to create a product will be available in the UK.

The idea behind the marketplace came about during the lockdown in 2020, when founder Ryan Idrissi tried to find a coffee filter that was produced in Britain. After failing to find a coffee filter on Amazon which was not made outside the UK and then struggling to find a website selling British-only products, the concept of All Britannia was born, to give consumers a one-stop-shop to buy UK goods.

British green cleaning products company Delphis Eco is one company already signed up to All Britannia.  A spokesman for Delphis Eco, says:  “As a British company with our products made locally, All Britannia is the perfect marketplace to promote our Made in Britain professional cleaning range.  With Delphis Eco as the green alternative to household cleaning products, our entire ethos is centred around the environment. By shopping locally with All Britannia, consumers can decrease their carbon footprint by reducing the supply chain and the distance that goods are transported. All Britannia is a great British and green solution to shopping.”

Ryan Idrissi, founder of All Britannia, adds: “British consumers have never been so determined to shop local, but hurdles remain — not least the fact that up until now, it has been impossible to stock an online basket full of solely British goods and purchases. All Britannia is changing all that, and we invite British businesses involved in all industries from food and drink, and health and beauty, through to homeware, clothing and more to join us now. We welcome all businesses who support local sourcing and want to reach an end consumer who appreciates and supports buying British.”
