Quick to embrace wearables, the hub Hotel in Covent Garden London is using Apple Watch to enable guests to control their hotel room settings with a swipe and a tap from their wrists.

Using the Apple Watch, guests are able to control the lighting, heating and even the Smart TV via the hub app, developed in conjunction with London digital creative agency Monitise Create, making hub by Premier Inn one of the world’s most connected hotels.

hub by Premier Inn launched in late 2014 from Whitbread, owners of the UK’s most loved hotel chain – Premier Inn. The new hotel located in Covent Garden is the first of 14 hotels announced by the group who have ambitious growth plans for its new brand of contemporary, compact city centre hotels designed with comfort and convenience in mind.

hub’s rooms include smart storage units, from a desk that folds into the end of the bed to luggage space under the bed. The stylish, modern design creates a calm, uncluttered environment for guests wanting a hassle free stay. As well as an array of carefully positioned connectivity and charge points, and a touch screen control panel built into the head of the bed, each room comes equipped a 40-inch smart TV, with access to the latest movies for free, games, the internet and catch-up TV. There is also super-fast, free Wi-Fi available throughout the hotel.

Whilst hub by Premier Inn pushes many boundaries of a traditional hotel stay, it keeps the vitals central to the experience, a welcoming local team, available for guests 24/7 and a super comfortable Hypnos double mattress to ensure everyone enjoys a great night’s sleep.
