Long Tall Sally has launched a new website for the Irish market as part of a larger expansion across Europe. The launch will be marked with a pop-up shop, which will be open over the coming weekend.
The retailer, a Top250 retailer in IRUK Top500 research, sells clothing designed for women who are over 5’8″ tall, and stocks shoes in sizes 7 to 13. As a result of the launch of longtallsally.com/ie, delivery to Irish customers will be cut to between two and three days, from up to 10 days previously, while customer service will be local.
“With a database of 8,000 customers in Ireland, it is only right to roll out the same excellent service that our UK customers enjoy: namely faster standard delivery, local returns, UK sizing and free customer care telephone number,” said Alison Doherty, chief operating officer.
A Dublin pop-up shop launches for two days from Friday March 31 at the Carlton Hotel Blanchardstown in Cruiserath.
Sian Field, group retail director, said: “There’s always such a great buzz among Ireland’s tall sisterhood. Expect tall-fit tailoring, dresses, jeans, tops, activewear and a fabulous selection of shoes.”
The Irish website will be followed by the launch of a localised Dutch website, due to take place in April 2017. This marks a significant expansion within Europe for Long Tall Sally, which already trades online and via 26 stores in the USA, Canada, UK and Germany. It follows the retailer’s acquisition by Munich-based TriStyle Mode in August 2016. The deal, backed by equity investor Equistone Partners Europe, brings together Long Tall Sally with mail order and ecommerce women’s fashion retailers Peter Hahan and Madeleine.
Long Tall Sally now has nine dedicated country websites, serving markets that also include Australia and New Zealand. In all, it has 13 websites, including English-language versions of its French and German websites, a Eurozone site and an international site.
