US wardrobe-sharing app Tulerie has added a rent-to-buy option, location-based searching and same day delivery as the clothing rental space heats up.
The luxury resale market has grown 21 times faster than the retail market over the past three years, according to research from GlobalData. Tulerie was the first rental platform to offer luxury resale and is taking advantage of this opportunity through its new “rent-to-buy” feature.
Tulerie is the first rental company to launch a rent-to-buy service where members can purchase pieces from other members, or decide to buy an item after renting and the rental price will be deducted from the purchase price.
Members also now have the ability to find items that are close by for quicker delivery – currently beta-testing in Manhattan. For last-minute rentals, members can filter for items they can wear tomorrow or even today! Locations services coupled with the new messenger service means you can borrow from a women’s closet in hours.
Tulerie has also launched a messenger service for delivery in as little as two hours, subject to the owner’s availability. Members in the Hamptons will also benefit from next-day delivery of select pieces through Labor Day.
Meanwhile, new search filters improve the member experience with more precision and convenience when browsing. The occasion filter allows members to find the “before-dark” or “after-dark” looks. Warm-weather, cold-weather, and all-weather were added as a direct response to member behaviour, as many members borrow their entire vacation wardrobe.
“Since its launch in October 2018, Tulerie has been on the forefront of innovation in retail,” says co-founder Merri Smith. ”We started Tulerie to give environmentally-conscious fashion enthusiasts the opportunity to both expand their wardrobe options and monetize their closets” adds Smith’s co-founder Violet Gross, “Our new rent-to-buy feature only takes this a step further.”
