Men’s fashion label Matinique has seen visits to its website increase by 20 times after the launch of a new ecommerce site earlier this year.

Matinique.com now sells to shoppers in 13 countries using four currencies through a site whose features include 360 degree image zoom and rotation, colour matching, and flash. Customers can search by product type and can get tips and trend advice from a style adviser.

GSI Commerce developed the website for brand owner IC Companys, and also supports it with order processing, fulfillment, and call centre services.

Jesper Arvidsson, ecommerce manager at IC Companys, said: “Our non-transactional website had previously worked well for us as a reputation-building platform; however we recognised the need to offer our customers an efficient and easy-to-use sales portal.”

Hosein Moghaddas, VP and managing director International of GSI Commerce, said: “Bringing the all-important store experience to your website is essential for multichannel fashion retailing.

“Consumers regularly abandon potential purchases due to an inability to inspect items in detail or cumbersome payment processes.

“With Matinique we have created a website that matches the store experience as far as possible, from colour representation to browsing options.”
