Mobile Fun unveils 14.7% sales boost after a year in which it opened its doors in 22 new countries

Mobile Fun has announced a 14.7% boost to sales after a year in which it opened for business in 22 new countries.


The online retailer of mobile phone accessories today said that sales grew to £11.5m in the year to March 31. International sales grew by 45% to £4.9m, and now account for 42.3% of all sales.

Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and write-downs grew by 28.3% to £1.1m. Meanwhile, total group orders rose by 17.2% to 465,947 and orders on international websites were up by 58.6% to 156,532.

The year saw Mobile Fun launch 22 new international websites, taking its total overseas operations to 27 countries. At the same time its warehouse storage space was expanded by 50% and employee numbers grew to 82.

“We’ve enjoyed another year of unprecedented growth, especially across our international business,” said Mohammed Hussain, managing director, Mobile Fun (pictured). “The strength of the consumer smartphone market is driving demand and we’ve been able to capitalise on this by giving customers what they really care about – a wide choice of mobile accessories and fast delivery.”

He added: “Our newly-established websites are performing strongly and intrducing the Mobile Fun brand to new customers across Europe, Asia, and America.” Hussain said the company also had plans for further expansion during the year.
