E and m-commerce platform vendor Digby has integrated PayPal Mobile Express Checkout to offer retailers a new payment option that makes it easier for consumers to purchase from their smartphone with the shortest number of steps – and 1-800-FLOWERS.com in the US has become launch customer.
In the past six months, 62% of smartphone owners have purchased physical goods from their mobile devices according to a 2011 Adobe survey. Digby retail partners will undoubtedly see an even higher increase in sales and conversion rates once they enable PayPal on their branded mobile website and rich apps.
“For us it is all about leading the industry with our 1-800-FLOWERS.COM mobile shopping experience,” said Chris McCann, President of 1-800-FLOWERS.com. “Through our collaboration with Digby and PayPal, we make it more convenient for our customers to choose our truly original floral arrangements and gifts from our smartphone optimized website and deliver smiles to their loved ones.”
As customers shop for their favorite arrangements and gifts via 1-800-FLOWERS.COM’s mobile optimized website or rich apps powered by Digby, they will now have the added choice to purchase by PayPal Mobile Express Checkout. Once the PayPal Mobile Express Checkout option is chosen, customers can then add their PayPal username and password once and the checkout process can be completed quickly, securely and within seconds.
“1-800-FLOWERS.COM has been a strategic customer of ours for several years now and they have been on the cutting edge of mobile marketing, mobile commerce and social engagement so it was a natural fit for us to work with them on our initial deployment of PayPal Mobile Express Checkout,” said David Sikora, President and CEO of Digby. “This effort demonstrates our 100 percent focus on enabling the mobile channel for retail to deliver the industry’s best mobile commerce experience.”
