IKEA – through TaskRabbit – is expanding its home assembly service to six new areas, meaning customers shopping in stores and online can now take advantage of the service, making the IKEA experience even more convenient than ever before.

Launching in Leeds, Sheffield, Nottingham, Gateshead, Southampton and Exeter at the end of January, TaskRabbit will be able to help shoppers in a total of 27 locations throughout the UK. IKEA’s relationship with TaskRabbit aims to help customers with all their needs in and around the home, from furniture assembly and wall mounting to minor home repairs.

By connecting with knowledgeable “Taskers” in their local area, TaskRabbit allows people to focus on the fun aspects of homemaking. With expert help from “Taskers”, anything is possible – people no longer need to spend time completing tasks themselves.

Daniel Lundholm, Country Customer Fulfilment Manager, IKEA UK & Ireland says: “We know that increasingly, people are living extremely busy lives, so we want to make things easier for them by offering affordable and convenient services, like TaskRabbit. Expanding TaskRabbit means that more people across the UK can have their furniture built when they want, at high quality and at a low price, giving them more time to spend with their loved ones.”

The expansion of TaskRabbit is IKEA’s latest step in becoming more convenient for shoppers wherever, however and whenever they want to shop. This announcement follows hot on the heels of recent news that IKEA will be opening a new city-centre concept in 2021 in Hammersmith centre.

Cornelia Raportaru, Regional Director for Europe at TaskRabbit says: “After the success of launching TaskRabbit in eight IKEA stores in 2019, we’re delighted to be offering services to even more customers across the UK. We take pride in helping local communities by ensuring “Taskers” share their skills with people who need an extra pair of hands.”

TaskRabbit was acquired by Ingka Group, the owner of IKEA UK, in October 2017 and since then, has continued with its mission to make everyday life easier for everyday people. With furniture assembly pricing starting from just £6, and a minimum fee of £22, TaskRabbit provides affordable options for people seeking help with tasks of all sizes. “Taskers” can be booked with both in-store and online purchases at http://www.IKEA.co.uk, as well as through the TaskRabbit website at www.taskrabbit.co.uk/ikea.
