Mobile queue busting technology is not just for Christmas, says Eurostop
One of the emerging trends over Christmas 2015 in retail was the growing use of technology to queue bust in stores. Many retailers experimented with using mobile and mobile-based PoS technology to cut queues. But, like dogs, this tech should be used year round and not just for Christmas.

Eurostop, a leading supplier of retail management solutions for fashion, footwear and lifestyle, says that queue busting technology like mobile and tablet based POS offers retailers the opportunity to provide more personalised customer services.

The company argues that the functionality of the new tablet technology allows retailers to deliver the full shopping experience seamlessly – from stock selection, fulfilment, bar code scanning and chip and PIN transaction processing.

Marcus Ardeman, Sales Executive at Eurostop explains: “There is no doubt that tablet technology offers retailers more than just a mobile point of sale solution to beat the queues. Today the omni-channel retailer is focussed on more than just processing sales faster and getting more customers through the door. The ability to check stock from anywhere on the shop floor makes the whole customer experience faster and seamless.”

He continues: “A mobile e-pos solution supports staff as they check items of stock, whether they are located in the warehouse, or at another store. Many retailers with multiple outlets often do not hold all stock in every store - and being able to quickly access stock location and process sales during busy times enables sales personnel to provide a truly efficient customer service. Crucially, this can help to avoid the build up of queues in the first place.”

Eurostop’s interactive e‑pos Touch solution is already being used by many retailers to provide a more personal shopping experience to customers in store, as well as beat the queues. The system enables e-receipts (paperless) to be sent direct to a customer’s phone or email, to support the seamless shopping experience. If a receipt is required, the use of wi-fi and remote printers ensure that the customer does not need to stand at a till point. Receipts can also be configured to match a store’s style – for example, printed A5 or include the retailer’s branding.
