Group orders and in-car collection: how Domino’s revamp its app for the end of lockdown

Domino's: new app for a new era

Domino's: new app for a new era

Pizza company Domino’s has revamped its app ready for the end of lockdown to make it easier to use and allowing new ways to order and collect.

As well as adding personalised welcomes and remembering your last order, the new version of the app also allows group ordering much easier – ready, says the company, for summer reunions – as well as easy selection of alternatives to delivery, such as in-car collection.

The new group order feature is particularly interesting as it allows the user to create a group order with friends, family or anyone they like. They then send them each a group invite, and they’ll be able to add their favourite Domino’s pizza to the order. It can even be set this up 24 hours in advance.

The revamp has come about after questioning users as to what they wanted to see more and less of in the experience.

Domino’s Mobile Mastermind, Kelly O’Connor says: “We always take care with our unique finishing touches, like our hand-stretched dough, or our perfectly placed pepperoni, so we approached the app updates in the same way.  We’ve listened to fans so we know personal touches will make this update extra useful and early reviews have been very promising. As the nation reunites this summer, we know a smart new app is the perfect partner for quick and easy piping hot Domino’s deliveries.”
