Marks & Spencer has launched its first Facebook store ahead of Father’s Day this Sunday.

Visitors to the page can view suggested Father’s Day gifts, such as a briefcase, a watch or pyjamas, and then click through to the Marks & Spencer website for more detail or to buy.

The M&S store is currently Father’s Day-themed but the inventory can be updated dynamically.

Merchants using the technology, from Zibaba, can choose between setting the checkout to function in Facebook or to redirect back to their own website. They can also run group offer deals from their storefront, while also offering group coupons that can be redeemed either on or offline.

Zibaba chief executive Ronen Schlomo said: “We’re delighted that Marks & Spencer chose Zibaba to launch their Facebook store. With over 300,000 Facebook fans, it makes excellent business sense to offer their fans the opportunity to shop directly from their fan page.”
