NetVoucherCodes.co.uk has become the first UK voucher codes website to launch an optimised mobile site. After reporting a sharp rise in mobile visitors to NetVoucherCodes.co.uk, the company took the decision to design, build and host its own mobile site, rather than the app approach (app-proach?) taken by other voucher companies so far in the UK. Powered by Net4 WCF Services (Windows Communication Foundation), the mobile site is fully integrated with NetVoucherCode’s existing online platform.

Launching later this month, the site has a number of advanced, behind the scenes features, which enable users to retrieve codes extremely quickly.

The mobile site works across all handset types and has been optimised for high-end smartphones, including iOS, Android, Windows Phone 7, Blackberry, WebOS and iPhone mobile devices.

Steve Barnes, managing director of NetVoucherCodes.co.uk, explains: “Social and mobile commerce solutions are rapidly making a mark in the retail market, with consumer spending habits driving technology advancements.

“With an increasing number of visitors choosing to access our site via a mobile device, we felt it was essential to design a mobile optimised site that has the end-user firmly in mind – both in terms of design and speed. At every stage of development, every effort has gone in to choosing the right development tools that minimise data exchange between our users’ mobiles and our servers. This will lead to an extremely fast user experience, with consumers also being able to view a code within a minimum amount of presses.”

ABI Research predicts that mobile commerce is set to develop into a £75 billion market by 2015, with many brands from the mighty New Look’s whizzy HTML5 site to other les sophisticated ones coming on stream for Republic, Wynsors World of Shoes and and many others in recent months.

Barnes added: “With iPhone sales helping to drive exceptional growth for the technology giant in the first quarter of 2011 – surging to 18.7 million units sold worldwide – mobile purchasing is set to rocket over the coming years. By introducing the first voucher codes mobile optimised site, our aim is to capitalise on changing consumer spending habits and provide the best user experience possible.”

For those not in the know, Netvouchercodes.co.uk is a comprehensive voucher code website. The company searches the internet for voucher codes and brings them all together in one place. The aim is to provide consumers with a one-stop shop for the best discount deals on the internet, with hundreds of new codes and offers being added to the site on a weekly basis.
