Now That’s What I Call Music 80 comes to life with Augmented Reality

Now That’s What I Call Music! the UK’s biggest selling compilation series ever, has added mobile augmented reality to the latest NOW That’s What I Call Music 80 compilation that pops up a 3D menu that music fans can access using a mobile app simply by pointing their mobile at any NOW 80 logo – whether its on a CD cover, a poster, in-store, an ad, a computer screen or even a printout.

Working with app developer Blippar – which has already had great success with an AR ad campaign for Cadbury – the enhanced 3D menu includes a track list and track samples from Now 80, bonus videos including David Guetta and Professor Green, the opportunity to rate your favourite track on Facebook, as well as a brilliant free to enter prize draw with 80 great prizes on offer. Prizes include a Personalised Gold NOW Disc, 2 x signed iPad 1s an iPod Nano and 6 Month Spotify Premium subscriptions, as well as itunes vouchers and downloads. Prizes will be drawn at random over the coming 6 weeks and winners announced by email.

With this new development, the Now team are going step further into 3D augmented reality, and literally bringing the NOW brand to life – watch this space! The 3D augmented reality menu is live NOW.

The NOW That’s What I Call Music series is phenomenally successful, with total album sales since Now 1 in 1983 exceeding 100 million. The current release, NOW 80, has already out-sold all of the other 200 compilation albums in the market, with 134,000 sales in just two days.
